I snapped this shot last night with my phone. I love the pink hues on the snow. There is so much beauty where I live and I enJOY it everyday.
I snapped this picture the other day with my phone. I thought it was a nice one. This is the City of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, in the background.
These berries look so beautiful. I did a little googling about the mountain ash tree. I never realized the amazing health benefits of the berries. Here is a link to more info: https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-571/mountain-ash but in a nutshell:
Mountain Ash is a plant. People use the berries to make medicine. The berries may be used fresh, dried, or cooked and then dried. People take mountain ash for treating kidney disease, diabetes, arthritis, low levels of vitamin C (vitamin C deficiency), diarrhea, and menstrual problems.
I for one am going to get me some of these berries. The birds know how good these are.
I hope you enJOYed my picture today and also learning, if you did not know, how amazing mountain ash berries are!
Who doesn’t want more JOY in their life? How about in your work? I struggle with the word ‘work’ and I think I know why…..
It’s because of a secret. The sooner one understands and learns this secret, the sooner JOY unfolds. What is this secret? The secret is that once you discover what you are passionate about and you pursue that, whatever you do around that passion will infuse more JOY into your life and work and you will no longer think of your work as ‘work’. It will now be your passion and your purpose.
“The heart of human excellence often begins to beat when you discover a pursuit that absorbs, frees you, challenges you, or gives you a sense of meaning, JOY or passion.” ―Terry Orlickterry orlick
If you are unclear as to what you are passionate about, ask someone who knows you well to share with you the following:
When you are talking about a subject and your eyes literally light up and you become more animated. This may sound too simple to be true, but it is very true. As a Life Coach for many years, I have seen this exact display of passion and purpose in the eyes of many and it always is a direct hit to what a person is passionate about.

I snapped this picture the other day using my Samsung Galaxy S8 plus and thought it was just gorgeous!
This picture is the sun setting on Lake Superior in Shuniah township. To the right in the picture is the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Thunder Bay has a population of about 110,000 people and is a nestled in the middle of Canada. It is bordered by Lake Superior, one of the 5 great lakes all of which are freshwater, accounting for 1/5 of the freshwater surface on the planet.
According to Wikipedia:
Lake Superior (French: lac Supérieur; Ojibwe: ᑭᑦᒉᐁ-ᑲᒣᐁ, translit.Gitchi-Gami), the largest of the Great Lakes of North America, is also the world’s largest freshwater lake by surface area, and the third largest freshwater lake by volume. The lake is shared by the Canadian province of Ontario to the north, the U.S. state of Minnesota to the west, and Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the south. The farthest north and west of the Great Lakes chain, Superior has the highest elevation of all five great lakes and drains into the St. Mary’s River.
I’ve had people reach out to me about painting this picture and I hope they do! I love that we can share the beauty in the world… and on that note, feel free to share this blog post showing the glorious colours produced by nature’s sunsets in this beautiful part of the world. EnJOY!

Today on Facebook, a local business, Bay Village Coffee, shared a FB post promoting my friend May Porter’s art in the form of holiday greeting cards.
I have to share with you that this post brought tears to my eyes. My friend May is a terrific artist and she is getting her work out there. I remembered back to a time when May was more of a silent artist, or perhaps a time when she was a little less confident about her gift. And I thought of all of the artists out there. It matters not if the art is in the form of painting, drawing, sewing, writing, cooking, gardening, designing or just creating of any sort, it’s art! And how many of us struggle with letting it come out and through us?
This my friends, is why I had tears in my eyes. For all the Mays, the Maggies, the Susans and Joes of the world who struggle with allowing our art and our gifts and letting them come out. We all have beautiful divine expressions of creativity and gifts that we have to offer the world and many of us keep them hidden.
I for one, have vowed to use my gift of expressing through words more often and to ‘let it out’ and this is why I am here writing today. 🙂
Here is a picture May posted today of her favorite work area in her home, her dining room table.
Others commented and posted sharing their favorite areas to create too! So often we think we need special rooms, areas, or tools for our craft when in reality it’s just do it and the spaces and inspirations will find their place as we journey along. It always begins with the first step…
I encourage the artist in you, to unleash its divine essence and flow through you and out to the world. We have been waiting for you!
I close with another piece of May’s art. The English Robin and prints are available for those interested. And to see more of May’s work, she does have a FB Page . If you too love the artists of the world and also love supporting them, give her page a Like. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/mayporterartist/ And a shout out to Bay Village Coffee for their local business and in supporting the artists and entrepreneurs of the world!

Yesterday I snapped this picture which I now call “Sun Angel Over The Sleeping Giant”. According to Wikipedia The Sleeping Giant is a formation of mesas and sills on Sibley Peninsula which resembles a giant lying on its back when viewed from the west to north-northwest section of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. For those of us who live in this area we are all very familiar with this legendary giant and we even have a slogan representing the city of Thunder Bay that states: “We Have a Giant Heart”!. I did capture this picture the other day and you can indeed see the giant heart, so I thought it was fitting as well. 🙂
I really do believe this Great Lake, Lake Superior has magical and healing properties and to have both this heart and sun angel appear reaffirms to me that there truly is something mystical and magical about this lake and area of the world.
Lake Superior is the world’s largest fresh water lake by surface area, the largest of the Great Lakes of North America. The lake is shared by the Canadian province of Ontario to the north, the U.S. state of Minnesota to the west, and Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the south.
I feel blessed to live in a part of the world where I can enjoy this lake and all its beauty.
