The Smell of Sunshine

For years I have loved the ‘smell of sunshine’. I have not researched it much, but what I have, Googled, tells me there is no such thing. I don’t believe this however. 🙂

I know and love the smell of sunshine!

When the sun shines on items, even through a window, eventually a beautiful smell is created and the only way to describe this scent is heavenly! I have a pink blanket on the end of my bed at my beach house, which gets a lot of sunshine everyday that it’s sunny, and the smell is divine. It’s like fresh air and sunshine combined.

Today I was telling my friend once again about the smell of sunshine and how much I love it. I asked her if she had ever heard of this and she said “No”. So I had her smell this throw that is on one of the chairs here that gets sunshine every morning. Sure enough she was able to smell what I was talking about and and she agreed with me completely!!! This smell is divine!

I encourage you to try smelling the sunshine in your house. It works best when it is cast on things that are made out of cotton or terry cloth. Natural fibers seem to soak up that sunshine the best! 🙂

Decorate Your Life With JOY!

life is a ceremony

This was the start of my beautiful morning. Warm lemon water in a pretty cup, some meditation today (not all days), and then a short yoga session which focused today on appreciating the feet and knees.

Lately I have been ceremoniously enjoying my things and experiences and tying them together. For example when I prepare my morning celery juice I offer it up, pre-juicer, on a nice elongated white plate. There is something extra special doing it that way verses grabbing the celery from the sink and stuffing it in the juicer. 🙂

Here, in this picture, I enjoy my lemon water in a pretty tea cup along with my new favorite lemon water carafe. I find the more special and ceremonious I make my experiences, the deeper I appreciate them. They become sacred in fact.

A client just messaged me about how to prepare lemon water and I mentioned to her that I enjoy slicing my lemons thinly in the cup because it is like a whole bunch of sunshine in my cup. It truly makes me smile to see it. That is an example of infusing more JOY. I like to call all of this “Decorating Your Day with JOY”. 🙂

Update: my client just sent me this! How wonderful!

I hope you too find ways to infuse more JOY into your day and enjoy the little things that you do for you health consistently because they truly do become the BIG things. All things done with JOY are enhanced and extra special too. 🙂

World Turtle Day May 23 2014

It was a beautiful day today and I went for a walk. We have had a long and cold and snowy winter. This is the first beautiful spring day we’ve had. The sun is shining and it is so glorious.

While walking along a river bank lo and behold there 14 turtles sunbathing on a log. It was amazing to see and was enjoyed by myself and a few passerbys, in particular a young boy and it was thrilling for him. The best part was I later discovered today is World Turtle Day!!!!
