Make Dates With Life & People * Dโ™ฅaโ™ฅtโ™ฅeโ™ฅs *

There is something so special about spending one-on-one time with people that you love and enJOY being with. To this day I can remember back to a time when I had lunch with my Dad, at a little local restaurant. I think this might have been one of the very few times, if not the one and only time, we had lunch together at a restaurant, just the two of us. I remember it clearly. And my father has been gone since 1995! That is how meaningful that seemingly simple lunch was.

Spending time one-on-one with someone else is a beautiful form of intimacy and connection that is absolutely special. โœฟ.๏ฝก.:* โ˜†:** โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ

My daughter Sivanna and I have a Tuesday date where we go out and enJOY some food together before her gymnastics class at 6:30 pm. Usually it is Chinese but sometimes it is Tacos for Taco Tuesday. ๐Ÿ™‚ It really does not matter where we go or if we are even going out to eat, it matters that it is our special time together.

Spending Time With Others is a ๐ŸŽ€ ๐‘”๐’พ๐’ป๐“‰ ๐ŸŽ€

Spending time with others is a gift to both parties, provided the people you are spending time with are a positive encounter. That is certainly a place that I have come to in life. I prefer to enJOY the company of those who reciprocate in lifting each other up and enhancing our lives with conversations of JOY, beauty, and excitement for life, sharing our thoughts on things that make us happy, new projects we are working on, goals, dreams, and anything that feels good. Not to say, I am not available to lend a kind ear, or an empathetic heart, but I do prefer to have those ‘special’ dates with life enhancing partners and where we both feel GOOD after it’s over.

My honey and I have our date night every Friday night. We both look forward to it greatly. We talk nonstop and bounce ideas off each other, we share our philosophies, we share and co-create ideas for what to write about, (we both love to write to express ourselves), we bounce around business ideas, updates, discussions about our daughter, and on it goes.

We love these date nights. โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ Sometimes we go out, sometimes we stay in, sometimes we dance to our own music, sometimes we laugh our a%#es off, and sometimes we have heart to heart talks… and it is all good. It is our special time. It is our date night and it is something we honor.

Our little table at the Lake House where we have had many romantic dinners together.

And I even do dates with myself! Yep. I walk into a restaurant and I tell them I would like a table for one because I am having a date with my best friend ๐Ÿ™‚ I do enJOY immensely having these times with myself. In fact, I enJOY them A LOT!

I love being alone with myself and with my thoughts. I feel so FREE. Free to be ME. FREE to do whatever I want in that time. It is GLORIOUS in fact.

A beautiful Butterfly FREE like ME

I hope you too see the beauty in having dates with life and the people that you enJOY being with. Why not start today and book something for this upcoming week? It can be as simple as sharing a cup of tea with a friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Gift of Mistakes!

mistakes are proof

Here is another quote from the book of quotes that my daughter gave me for Valentine’s Day. I adore these quotes from the book that she made for me by hand. Each day, when I open one, it is a gift and I treasure it.

Today’s made me think about the word ‘mistake’. I have come to believe that there are no mistakes in life, or at least I try not to look at them that way anymore. I see all experiences as stepping stones or as what I call “the contrast”. The contrast simply means an experience that I have had that shows me what I really, really, want verses “the contrast”, which is what I don’t want or no longer want to bring into my life and my life’s experiences.

A simple example could be a relationship that one has had.  If you left a marriage or relationship of any kind, instead of seeing it as bad or wasted time, why not see it as the gift of showing you what you DO want in a relationship. Because of your past experience, you are much clearer on what is important for you to create in your life now.

The other day I wrote a blog post, also inspired by my daughter’s quote book, from that blog post I will quote myself here in reference to me saying No to an opportunity to be interviewed on a TV show about my overcoming adversity in health and life. I will put the link  later in this blog post to read the full post but for now here  is me quoting me: ๐Ÿ™‚

‘”I see all of my past experiences as stepping stones that have gotten me to where I am today. The hardships and challenges have made me who I am so I see them as GIFTS! I did not feel I could properly convey myself to share the hardship piece because I donโ€™t feel that way.  I see everything as if it was perfect! It was the contrast I needed to show me what I do want. ๐Ÿ™‚ I donโ€™t want to talk about painful stuff. It does not serve me. I am too focused on where I am now and en-JOY-ing the next phase.  I hope this makes sense cause I feel I am having a hard time conveying it for some reasonโ€ฆ. but thatโ€™s okay, no perfection here. ๐Ÿ™‚”

Here is the link to that prior blog post if you would like to read the entire piece. Maggie’s Prior Blog Post

The cool thing about that prior blog post was that I got great responses from people and I could tell that it really helped them to shift the way they saw their past. For example here is one private message that I received:

“Love the blog post and Sivanna’s book. Wow ! Lots of love in that. So Iโ€™m thinking or it hit me as I read , I need to change how I think of my marriage and my ex. I think of it as lost time. Wasted years. Years of sadness and lack that I beat myself up for tolerating.”

************

I was very happy to see this message from this is a client of mine that I know well,  It was an awesome moment for me to see her willing to let go of holding onto thinking of her past in a painful way. This does not serve us. It only robs us of the JOY we can have right now. I often say that the past already caused us pain, why let it cause you more pain today all over again? That’s like a double whammy!

I hope you too can start to think of so called mistakes as stepping stones to creating the life that you DO want and that will bring you more JOY, Love, Happiness and Magical relationships of all  kinds! When we let go of that which no longer serves us, we can be FREE! ๐Ÿ™‚
