How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.
Wow. I love this quote! In a nutshell, we just need to be us … being us. I love it!
I discovered this a few years back. Who was I? A life coach? What type? A business coach? A speaker? A writer? A healer? And the list went on. NO I realized and shouted to myself “I am ME being ME“… ME inspiring others through coaching, writing, healing, words, speaking, blogging, etc….. It was a beautiful moment when it clicked. 🙂 I got that it wasn’t about ‘what’ I was being, but about ‘who’ I was being.
Maybe take some time today to reflect on ‘who’ you are and encourage yourself to let you be the full and biggest and best version of you being YOU!
“If you carry JOY in your heart, you can heal any moment.”
If you know me, you know I use the word ‘JOY’ a lot! 🙂 I really believe that the most direct connection to have more divine moments in our lives, is through JOY. To me, these are the moments that matter the most! I know there will be challenges and hardships in life, so on the flip side, I FOCUS on creating JOY and bringing it into my life as much as I can.
In fact, just yesterday I came up with a new term for things like a ‘coffee break’ or a ‘break’. Now I call them “JOY Breaks“. 🙂
Finding ways to experience more JOY is well worth the effort, in my opinion. For many years now I have shared with people my “JOY Meter” theory that I developed. Whatever you do or think about doing in your life, ask yourself “Does this bring me JOY?” or “Will this experience bring me JOY?” And then see where it sits on your JOY meter.
For example, let’s say a friend asks you to take a trip to a city four hours away. How does your heart respond when you hear the question? Do you feel instant elation and excitement ie. your JOY Meter is dinging and pulsing to the top, or do you feel dread and your heart is heavy? Maybe you love this city or maybe you don’t or maybe the thought of a 4 hour drive pleases you or displeases you? Either way, simply check in with your JOY Meter and find out.
It is really simple actually. Start to do and pursue things that bring you JOY and that set your JOY Meter off, and most importantly honour yourself by listening to that meter! 🙂
“Just follow your joy. Always. I think that if you do that, life will take you on the course that it’s meant to take you.”
As a Certified Life Purpose & Career Coach, I am often called upon to help individuals discover their life purpose. Here is a picture of me wearing some hearts. This was at a talk I gave about finding your Life’s Purpose. On the hearts you will see the words inspire, motivate, and uplift. The point of the hearts is that often your life purpose is not so much about ‘what you do’, but more about who you are ‘being’ in everything you do. I personally discovered that my own life purpose was not a particular set thing, but more so me expressing myself through various outlets. For example, I enjoy inspiring others through my words by speaking, writing, coaching, and using social media. I have even come to call myself a “Communication Artist”. Realizing this was very enlightening for me and allowed me to feel comfortable in my many capacities, verses feeling frustrated at being all over the map.
A good way to help determine your so called life purpose is to tap into what brings you joy. Is it children? Is it expressing yourself through art, words, or fabric? Is it humor? What would you be doing in your ideal day if you could just do that? What would you or have you ever volunteered to do? What are you good at that you don’t get paid for? What are your talents, gifts, and abilities?
Often we miss tapping into our natural purpose because we are too intent on searching. Once again, I am reminded that all answers are within. I hope everyone finds a purpose that inspires them to live in joy and on purpose!
